Daniel Hankin-Adviser
Mr. Hankin the adviser to the Buccy Pride Press has been teaching at Sycamore for 6 years. This is his first year as the newspaper and yearbook adviser. Hankin spent 20 years a news photographer prior to becoming a teacher. He also coaches high school baseball.
Alejandro Wences-Staff
Alejandro Wences, a seventh grader, went to the same school from kindergarten thru 4th grade and then attended Horace Mann. . He likes to play handball, typing, and watch TV. He remembers working for his grandfather on a farm in Mexico. He also remembers taking what seemed like a very long car trip to Utah.
Alejandro Valdez-Staff
Alejandro Valdez is a seventh grader and he likes to play video games with his brothers and cousins. He also plays with friends and enjoys tech decks. He has been to the hospital to have his appendix removed. His favorite food is pizza. Next year he would like to be in Sycamore’s advanced band. Valdez is looking forward to going to college.

Johan Soto-Staff
Johan Soto is a 7th grader. He loves music and plays the trombone. Johan is also in the Sycamore Drum Line program. Next year he hopes to be in advanced band. He also likes to play football and soccer. He enjoys taking photos for the newspaper.
Alexis Perez-Staff
Alexis Perez is a 12 year old, seventh grader at Sycamore. He likes to play soccer, video games and the clarinet. He hopes to be in advanced band next year. He is inspired by music and wants to be part of it. He would like to go to a college.
Sandy Osorio-Staff
Sandy Osorio is a 12 year old 7th grader. Although Osorio’s favorite subject in school is English, she enjoys being on the Buccy Pride Press Newspaper! She is learning the newspaper procedure, and is looking forward to participating in many activities! Osorio is the kind of girl who likes meeting new people and loves to have fun! Osorio plans to attend college and have a career as a teacher.
Joel Ortiz-Staff
Joel Ortiz is 7th grader and on the staff of the Buccy Pride Press. He likes football, Spiderman and playing the guitar. When Joel grows up he wants to help the community by becoming an Army Ranger. Joel is proud to be a Sycamore Buccaneer.

Denise Ocampo-Staff
Denise Ocampo is a 7th grader. In addition to being on the Buccy Pride Press staff she likes being involved in the Sycamore Dance Crew. Ocampo also likes to play after-school sports. Her favorite subject in school is English because she loves to write. She loves playing baseball, basketball, and soccer with her brother and friends. Ocampo plans to become a lawyer.
Joseph (Seph) Nuguid-Graphics Editor
Joseph Nuguid (pronounced NO-GOOD) prefers to be called Seph. He’s an 8th grader and moved to America in 2008. His hobbies are playing guitar, and video games. He also likes to read comics and cook and of course he likes to eat!
Roger Leon-Staff
Roger Leon is a 7th grader. His hobbies include playing sports, watching TV and using the computer. He’s also on the staff of the Buccy Pride Press.
Efrain Lagunas-Staff
Efrain Lagunas, a 13 year old and an 8th grader is part of the school newspaper team. He was born in Chicago moved several times before settling in Anaheim. He enjoys listening to music and watching TV. He loves Chinese food and hamburgers. Efrain’s favorite sport is soccer and he enjoys playing with his friends. He enjoys his classes but especially likes math and PE. His parents are his role models.

Melanie Diaz is a 13 year old, 8th grader. Diaz’ interests include sports, particularly baseball. She is a huge fan of the Angels. Diaz is the Editor in Chief of Sycamore’s Yearbook.
Suk Chung-Editor
Suk Chung is an 8th grade, honor roll student and Editor-in-Chief of the Buccy Pride Press. She loves teddy bears, ham and cheese pizza, playing the violin and fudge. Suk likes both classical music and hip-hop. She is planning to attend college and is looking at Harvard or Princeton. Suk is obviously interested in the sciences as she is thinking of being a doctor, chemist, or physicist.

Angelisa (Lisa) Calderon is the Buccy Pride Press sports editor. She’s an 8th grader and likes the Ramones, Social Distortion, and the Clash. Lisa has two brothers.
Jamie Arredondo-Staff
Jaime Arredondo is an eighth grade honor roll student. Mr. Wons is Jaime’s favorite teacher. Arredondo’s favorite class is the school paper. He is the reporter and/or photographer for the Halloween dress up day. He is also the reporter for Anaheim Achieves. Arredondo wants to be a reporter for the New York Times or a photographer for the Los Angeles times.
Victor Alvarado-Staff
Victor Alvarado is an eighth grader and enjoys playing baseball with his friends. He plans to work his way through college and would like to be an architect.
